Parasite is actually a science fiction horror manga series written and illustrated by Hitoshi Iwaaki, and published in Kodansha's Afternoon magazine from 1988 to 1995, but it became a horror movie in Japan.
The story is all about a mysterious worm-like aliens fall from the sky. They penetrate through the ears or nose into human beings and live off their brain while dominating the body. Now with human appearance, the parasites live among humans. but luckily "Shinichi Izumi" was penetrate through his hand because he was able to fight off the parasite before it eats his brain. and the parasite was stuck inside Shinichi's body, because if he kills Shinichi he will also die, so both of them live together.
The movie didn't actually follow the manga. It is mixed up in different characters and chapters. For example, Shinichi's father is absent from the movie. According to character dialogue, he died long ago, leaving Shinichi to be raised be his mother. But in the manga his father lived. One of Shinichi's most emotional character moments is when he recalls a time during his childhood when his mother saves him from being burned by hot oil, but is permanently burned on her right hand as a result. This is essentially what defines Shinichi's relationship with his mother.
This movie is not exactly a horror movie because it also taught us that even mysterious creatures are created we have the heart of gold that could accept each other and form together us one to help each other. but to be honest I like the anime than the movie because it really express the thought and every detail of the story. but I am surely that this movie will also attract your attention because of its confusion and mysteries.
